Dinner for 4.

Hey there!

I told you we were having a beautiful dinner with the boyfriends’ parents. Oh, and it was really magical. They stayed until 11 pm and we had loooong talks and I really loved the christmas-like athmosphere. I tried to take some good pictures of the table-arrangement… But it didn’t work the way I wanted to. So here are some – more or less good – pictures:

I used some organza-fabric as a “tablecloth” in the middle and added some napkin holders (with cute pearls) to make it like a bow.

My favorite part of the table is the big vessel with christmas balls inside. :)

I also had little chocolate santas for everyone. And little placecards. Oh, aaaaaaaaand the plates are special christmas-plates with little mooses and christmas trees on them xD Just had to buy them, so cute! <3

Our menue was very delicious, I made

Salad with rocket (german: rocula), apple slices,  and walnuts. The sauce is made from oil, honey, lemon juice and mustard, salt and pepper. It’s really my favorite salad!

Then we had potato gratin (one “normal” and the other with coconut milk – the coco nut thing was a real surprise, I always wanted to make this but was never sure if it will taste good… and it really tasted very good :) ) and chicken. Also very delicious.

And the dessert was a tiramisu creme.

Like I said, it was a very very nice evening and even though my belly (as always when I eat different things with different ingredients) wasn’t really happy about it. But it was totally worth it :P And I’m really glad I like the boyfriends’ parents this much and they like me. We have a very close relationship and I love to cook for them and make it all very pretty.

Now I’m going to eat some breakfast and then I will go to the fleamarket, see if I can find something cute. Cross your fingers <3

Happy Sunday, Loves!

Christmas Playlist

Hi, cute ones! :D

Someone asked if I could share some music I love. And because christmas is nearly there, I wanted to share my favorite christmas songs with you:

My alltime favorite is “Driving home for christmas” from Chris Rea. I know, I know. But it’s so beautiful and a nice thing to think of… someone driving through the snowy fields to be home with the loving family. <3 Just beautiful! Listen:

And who doesn’t love “White christmas” by Bing Crosby?! I like this feeling of the “olden days”… :)

Ooooooh, and this song is so great!

Everytime, I hear this one, it just keeps running around in my head :)

You know, I really love Linkin Park (and I always will ^^) and they don’t have a “real” christmas song. But “My December” is at least a winter-song. It’s very sad, but I just LOVE the piano at the beginning. Really, I love it. <3

This one is a german song from the german Songwriter “Rolf Zuckowski”. I bet every child in Germany KNOWS and LOVES this song <3 So do I. It’s a song about christmas-bakery ^^ Haha, it’s so great and reminds me of christmas as a child. My mom isn’t very good with baking, but she always tried to make the best christmas cookies together with me. And we always used to sing this song! :D I can’t wait to bake with her again. <3

Happy first Advent, dears <3

It’s a good one.

Even though this day started as a grey and rainy one, the rain has now gone away and I went away from the sofa and… hello! Creativity is here :D

Since I am not allowed to really go outside (you know, I’m still a little bit sick and if you don’t go to work because the doctor tells you to stay at home, you’re not supposed to run around outside ^^) – I needed to make my time inside as beautiful as possible. And you all know what that probably means :D

So I just went into my creative paradise and thought…

“What shall I do now?”

And then I saw my lovely gocco printer and felt I should do some gocco action! But what?!

I remembered how much I love cameras and thought of the Diana mini:

And I thought “Wow, I wish I’d have one!”. And then… PLING! There was the idea!

I used my gocco to make Diana mini for myself.

HOW?! Well, just see:

I printed my Diana Mini painting onto white fabric and turned it into a plush toy!

Well, I actually made a bunch of them. :)

I also made tons of the cards you see on the right side. :) And some special things for christmas. But I won’t tell yet, they’re surprises!

Many people ask me how I manage to be creative and to work fulltime. Well, first of all: Creativity is always around me. Even when I’m at work, I doodle little things in my calendar so I won’t forget. And when I come home (and don’t feel too tired) I just start to create. Sometimes, it’s hard to find the right balance, because I also have a social life with family, boyfriend, friends… and I feel like I sometimes forget about that. But crafting in a very special way makes me really happy. And you know, as a social worker, I see the sad side of life every day. Abused children, parents that don’t have the strength to raise their children etc. – I just need some happiness in my life. And colours! And that’s what my art offers me. Happy and colourful hours. Well, it sounds a bit like I was always working fulltime etc…. But I visited university before I started working in October. And I think, studying just offers you so much free time xD Well, it did for me. And I used this time right, I guess. :) And because of these months, I am used to do something creative every day. Maybe that’s why it’s not hard for me. :)

And also people were asking how I manage to blog every day. Well, first of all, it’s fun :D And second…. I don’t blog every day. Even though you see something here every day (sometimes even twice a day ^^) that doesn’t mean, I wrote this the day it’s online. I often schedule entries  – I write them at the weekend and they are published during the week. I try to offer my readers (and friends) something beautiful every day. And I want all new readers to see something cute each day. I also save some entries I won’t use at the moment so I can use them later.

Oh, and according to inspiring pictures, I can only say… I read a lot of other blogs – 76, to give you a number – and I use Google Reader because it helps me saving a lot of reading time ^^- and I find great inspiration-pictures or ideas over there. And of course I use the “favorite”-option in flickr, the “heart”-button on weheartit and my own “blog”-folder on my computer to collect pretty things. You should try it, it’s fun to check back on old favorites or your collections when your brain seems empty.

Well, I just wanted to answer some of the questions given below the Giveaway-post :)

Hope that’s ok for you.

Lovelies, I am really feeling better, only my nose and throat are still… sick ^^

Loves,

Katja

Look!

This just made me feel so much like winter on this cloudy and very grey friday morning!

Don’t you just look at this picture and think “I want to sit in that chair and take the blanket (and the cat), drink some tea and just look into the forest!”?! I did. And that’s why I wanted to share this <3

There are already so many nice words and very helpful tipps below the giveaway post! So great! My head is full of ideas and dreams to blog about… :) One of the comments that really made me think, was the one about HOW inspiration turns into reality. I will show you something about this soon, I guess. :)

Well, it’s a rainy, grey and dusty morning today and I’m just gonna end up on the sofa, knitting, – pretty sure about that.

I will be back later today with some more. Hope, your friday is as magical as this picture <3

Heart.

That thing

is MINE!

And now, I just need to wait 2 more weeks until I will hold this cute camera and 5 packs of film in my hand. I am more than excited. I just had to buy it today on ebay. I’ve been willing to buy it for a looooong time and now I thought… why wait?! Maybe it’s because I am still sick and my brain doesn’t work well ^^ But I wanted it. And now I have it. And…. hello, it makes me happy! :D

Can’t wait to take cute cute cute pictures with my new Fuji Instax mini 7.

And,…definitely, this is what I am thankful for today! :D (Call me superficial ^^)

fashion, oh fashion!

Hi :)

You might already know, i LOVE fashion and how much of a fashionista some girls (oh, and boys :P ) are! I just wish I could have a sense of style like those dolls have… But look:

And boys can be fashionable, too!

But I’m easy satisfied when it comes to boys and fashion, you know?! Just give me some indie and it’s perfect! :) (I know, my boyfriend hates that style, he’s so NOT indie…. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love you, darling… <3 )

Well, for now I feel very inspired to get out of my pyjamas and dress up. But I can’t. :( Anyways…- I WILL when I feel better. HA! And now I’m about to work on the Heavenly Cute Online Class private blog.

Love,

Katja
